The Defensor del Pueblo of Spain has recently published a report on migration on the Canary Islands.
This study compiles the initiatives carried out by the institution regarding the important phenomenon of migration that has taken place in this archipelago during 2020.
These pages not only seek to reflect the reality of what has happened on the Canary Islands, but also propose a set of short, medium and long-term measures which, from a human rights perspective and beyond border control, should shape Spanish migration policy within a common European framework.
The report is available in both Spanish and English.
