Pursuant to Article 21.4(n) of the IOI By-laws, a special report shall be submitted to the General Assembly of the IOI “evaluating what progress has been made among the Voting members in fulfilling the requirements of the International Ombudsman Standard as expressed in Article 2.” These requirements represent the core values of our organisation: independence, objectivity and fairness.
After a first preparation and trial period the IOI Board of Directors agreed to proceed with this project and IOI Voting members are asked to participate in a survey to evaluate membership progress. The outcome of this survey will be presented to the IOI General Assembly in Dublin in 2021 by means of a general evaluation report.
Article 21.4(n) of the IOI By-laws is understood to evaluate the IOI Voting members in terms of their fulfilment of the IOI’s principles and standards with a view to helping members to improve. The IOI therefore emphasises that the current evaluation is of a purely informative nature, non-punitive and not intended to be used as a basis to deprive any member of its membership or voting rights within the IOI.
Contributions from Voting members are important and highly appreciated.
