BackThe People's Advocate Institution in Albania welcomed today the decision to extend for another year the Albanian Naval Forces Mission to the NATO operation in the Aegean Sea.
In her capacity as the People’s Advocate of Albania, Mrs. Erinda Ballanca expressed the pleasure that Albania is committed to making its contribution, albeit modest, in the search and rescue operations of hundreds and thousands of immigrants entering our continent through the sea.
This mission’s primarily humanitarian nature and Albania’s participation with one naval force ship, is proof of the values of solidarity and respect for life that our societies should share.
The People's Advocate commends the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Albania for the extension of this mission in the framework of Euro-Atlantic integrations.
Like other human rights institutions, the People’s Advocate Institution, too, will keep up its efforts to protect and promote the rights of migrants and asylum seekers.
