UK | The Scottish Public Services Ombudsman laid three investigation reports and 73 decision summaries before the Scottish Parliament

On 21 January 2015 the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman (SPSO) laid three investigation reports about the National Health Service in Scotland and 73 decision summaries about all the sectors under the Ombudsman office's remit before the Scottish Parliament.

In December, the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman received 394 complaints and determined 421 complaints on which the institution:

  • gave advice on 236 complaints
  • considered 125 complaints at our early resolution stage
  • decided 60 complaints at our investigation stage.

In response to these complaints, the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman made a total of 124 recommendations.

The Scottish Public Services Ombudsman provides a 'one-stop-shop' for individuals making complaints about organisations providing public services in Scotland. The institution's service is independent, impartial and free.
