BackThe European Ombudsman Prof. Nikiforos Diamandouros visited the Polish Ombudsman Office on 3 October 2012. During his meeting with the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Poland Prof. Irena Lipowicz, the Deputy Defenders Mr Stanisław Trociuk and Mr Ryszard Czerniawski and the Directors of the Office, the European Ombudsman explained his recent activities. He was accompanied by dr Marta Hirsch-Ziembińska, Head of the Complaints and Inquiries Unit 1.
Discussions focused on complaints with particular emphasis on cases submitted through Polish citizens. The Directors of the Polish Ombudsman Office had the opportunity to ask questions about the procedures of receiving and handling of complaints and the role of the European Ombudsman within the control of EU institutions.
