PCC embarks on nationwide intensive training for staff in all its 36 state offices
In a bid to enhance staff capabilities and align with international best practices, the Public Complaints Commission has commenced a nationwide training program for all its staff nationwide. The training, which began on the 13th of May, 2024, saw enthusiastic participation from employees at levels 8 to 15, with staff from all 36 states converging at their respective state offices.

10 Students from Sukkur IBA University Selected as Ambassadors for Ombudsman Sindh
Ten students from Sukkur IBA University have been selected as Ambassadors for Ombudsman Sindh as part of the 4th Round of the Ambassador Program. Earlier, 10 students each from Hamdard University, Sindh Madressatul Islam University and Salim Habib University were selected. The selected students aim to foster civic responsibility, promoting accountability and support the Ombudsman’s mission.

Ombudsman discusses freedom of the media and rule of law in Slovenia
On 26 March 2021, the Democracy, Rule of Law and Fundamental Rights Monitoring Group of the European Parliament which operates in the framework of the European Parliament Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs continued the discussion on the freedom of the media and the rule of law in Slovenia. Ombudsman Peter Svetina has accepted the invitation of the Group, headed by the Dutch MP Sophie in 't Veld, and participated in the second round of discussions in Brussels.

Ombudsman becomes active on the Act on Nationalities
Certain provisions of the Act on Nationalities, which entered into force on 1 January 2012, are contrary to the Fundamental Law and restrict the fundamental rights of nationalities – the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights has requested the Constitutional Court to establish this and to annul the text parts indicated in his petition.

inquiry on treatment of students with disabilities
The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights of Hungary, Máté Szabó, conducted an inquiry on the treatment of students with disabilities in institutions of higher education. The ombudsman found out that the rights of disabled students are not enforced in a uniform practice by the institutions of higher education. Ombudsman Szabó asked the Minister of Human Resources to establish a clear legal context.

Public awareness on land rights
Between 28 September and 20 October 2013, the Commission for Human Rights and Good Governance of Tanzania (CHRAGG) conducted a public awareness campaign on land rights in 22 districts out of 169 districts of the 14 regions of Tanzania. The targeted groups were citizens and local government officials at the ward and village levels.
