19th Ombudsman de Montréal’s annual report tabled as it celebrates its 20 th anniversary
On 12 June 2023, the Ombudsman de Montréal, Me Nadine Mailloux, tabled her annual report for the year 2022 to City Council. The report covers 2,308 files handled, including 219 new enquiries on a wide variety of subjects, 53 of which were initiated by the OdM.

Ombudsman Sindh presents Annual Report 2022 to Governor and Chief Minister Sindh
Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Mr. Ajaz Ali Khan, presented the Annual Report of the Ombudsman Institution for the year 2022 to the Chief Minister Sindh on 11 June 2023 and to the Governor Sindh on 12 June 2023. The Provincial Ombudsman Sindh stresses the importance of investing in the education of girls
In a follow-up meeting with the Education Department, the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh opined that countries that invest well in girls’ education have lower maternal and infant rates, low rates of HIV/AIDS and better childhood nutrition. Therefore, there is a need to assess the performance of schools and the quality of education.

This week, ombudspersons and their advisers from 18 countries across Europe, Africa, and Asia convened in Estonia for a two-day training seminar focused on the technological, legal, and ethical dimensions of AI in administrative decisions and ombuds investigations. As AI evolves rapidly, ensuring its alignment with human rights, the rule of law, and democratic values in decision-making processes is becoming increasingly important. This training seminar was financed by the International Ombudsman Institute.
