The United States Ombudsman Association (USOA) provides a training for individuals who are relatively new to the role of government ombudsman. The four-day virtual event will be held in early December 2021. Registration is now open.

En 2021 la Institución ha celebrado el 40 aniversario de la Ley Orgánica 3/1981 que regula y desarrolla la figura del Defensor del Pueblo de España. Mr. Peter Tyndall, Ombudsman and Information Commissioner of Ireland and former President of the IOI, has been awarded IOI Honorary Life Membership. At its mid-term meeting on 15 November 2021, the IOI Board of Directors expressed its gratitude for Mr. Tyndall by acclamation for his long-term and very successful work as President of the IOI.
