The citizen in San Pa Tong Subdistrict Municipality, Chiangmai, had filed a complaint and requested the ombudsman to look into the performance of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC), in regards to allowing a private company to install a cellular tower in a community area.

Mr. Ajaz Ali Khan, Hon’ble Ombudsman Sindh, Pakistan, presented the Annual Report 2021 of the Institution to the Honourable Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, on 21st July, 2022.

A ceremony of the 60^th anniversary of the System of Administrative Counselors was held on 30 June 2022 in the presence of Crown Prince and Princess Akishino. The ceremony was held in order to re-acknowledge the importance of the role played by administrative counselors in connecting the public and the government, deepening the understanding of the system by the public, and promoting cooperation with local governments.

The Office of the Ombudsman of Latvia has launched a new website, which is now more accessible and user-friendly. The website was developed in cooperation with Turn Digital, digital accessibility experts and users.

On 13 July 2022, the European Commission published its third annual Rule of Law Report, providing an overview of the trends in this area in the European Union. For the first time, the Report contains specific recommendations to member states, including Croatia. One of them calls for Croatia to ensure a more systematic follow-up to recommendations and information requests of the Ombudsperson.

The European Network of Equality Bodies (EQUINET) published Issue 24 of its newsletter for the summer of 2022, which covers – among other things – equality data published by equality bodies in legal casework, artificial intelligence, gender recognition in Europe, or age discrimination.
