El defensor del Pueblo, Raúl Lamberto, mostró en Santa Fe la nueva imagen que identificará a la institución, elegida entre más de 120 propuestas que se presentaron en un concurso abierto. También se entregó el premio a la diseñadora ganadora, la joven capitalina Lucila Inés Baratti.

Mediante una presentación acerca de los “Desafios de las defensorías de Pueblo de Latinoamerica”, la Defensoría del Pueblo como miembro integrante el Instituto Latinoamericano del Ombudsman-Defensorias del Pueblo (ILO,) participo hoy en la primera jornada de la 9na Conferencia Bienal de la Asociacion de Ombudsman del Caribe (CAROA), que se desarrolla entre el 11 y el 13 de junio en Bonaire (Antillas Holandesas).

Cayman Islands recently introduced a new law, which will will come into effect on the 1st October 2017, combining the various oversight entities under one entity: the newly established Ombudsman Office. A call for applications for the positions of the Cayman Islands Deputy Ombudsman and two investigators are now open.

Office of the Ombudsman, Thailand and the Ministry of Supervision, People’s Republic of China  signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Bangkok on June 12th, 2017 in order to enhance capacity building through personnel enhancement programme and exchange of knowledge and best practice of the two organisations.

IOI President Peter Tyndall and Nilda Arduin, President of the Caribbean Ombudsman Association (CAROA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of their respective organisations during the 9^th Biannual CAROA Conference that was held from 11 – 13 June 2017 in Bonaire.

Viktoras Pranckietis, the Speaker of the Seimas (Parliament), in his opening address at the event organised by the Seimas Ombudsmen congratulated the Seimas Ombudsmen’s Office with accreditation as a National Human Rights Institution (NHRI).
