The African Ombudsman and Mediators Association (AOMA) recently released the 12th issue of its newsletter "African Ombudsman Today". This issue has a special emphasis on celebrating female Ombudsman as August is marked as the women’s month in South Africa. Thus it includes crucial topics such as Ombudswomen wielding justice and women’s efforts and achievements in leadership positions.
In addition to a wide range of information on ombudsman institutions on the African continent, the AOMA Newsletter presents the first International Ombudsman Expo convened under the theme Extending the Ombud Frontiers: Better Governance, Enhanced Performance. The Expo will be held in Nigeria from 28 to 31 of October. It will bring together over 500 national and specialized ombud and grievance handling offices from over 100 countries.
Moreover, this issue shows the results of the past IOI Annual Board Meeting in Mexico and gives information on the next IOI World Conference in Mai 2020 in Dublin.
