BackThe 14th Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA) Conference and General Assembly Meeting together with the 17th AOA Board of Directors Meeting were hosted by the Honourable Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. M. Salman Faruqui on 24 & 25 November 2015 in Islamabad.
86 participants representing 22 Countries of Asia and a population of about 2.5 billion attended the Conference and the Meetings which were declared to be a resounding success by the international and national print and electronic media.
The crowning glory of the AOA events was the constitution, through elections, of the new AOA Board of Directors as follows:

(Vice-Minister/Ombudsman of People’s Republic of China)

- Mr. Dato Haji Raihan Sharif, Member
(Ombudsman of Malaysia)
- Mr. Danang Girindrawardana, Member
(Ombudsman of Indonesia)
- Mrs. Saburskaya Sariya Harisovna, Member
(Ombudsman of Tatarstan)
All the participants agreed that, interalia, the four plenary sessions gave an ideal opportunity for the delegates to share valuable experiences, best practices and success stories.
The President of AOA, H.E. Mr. M. Salman Faruqui, Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan has assured that continuous efforts would be made to strengthen the AOA, interalia, by attracting more members into the organisation and increasing its financial resources.
