BackThe Seimas Ombudspersons' Office published a Report on the National Prevention of Torture, which presents key observations and provides recommendations and changes achieved in 2022.
The inspections of the places of detention identified in the report have revealed substantial violations of human rights and freedoms and other systemic problems, which all responsible institutions and bodies have been called upon to address in order to ensure that Lithuania's international obligations in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms are not violated, and that identified deficiencies and violations do not recur both at visited places of detention and at similar ones.
