On 22 June 2011, the President of Faso has nominated Alima Déborah Traore as the new Ombudsperson, after her predecessor, Amina Ouedraogo, retired.
A graduate from the French Universities of Orléans and Haute Alsace, Traore is an expert in public law and the relations between the public administration and the citizens. She also studied transport and logistics management and disposes of extensive professional experience in said field.
Her political engagement began with the promotion of women's rights which are high on her agenda to this very day, and stretches to international relations.
As a mother of three children and member and former President of the regional Zonta Club, social commitment is also close to her heart.
