IOI | Board of Directors

The IOI Board of Directors as well as the world Regions of the IOI took the opportunity of the 10th IOI World Conference in Wellington, New Zealand to meet and hold elections.

The IOI General Secretariat is pleased to inform you about these most recent changes and would like to welcome the newly elected members to the IOI Board of Directors: Chris Field, Ombudsman Western Australia and newly elected Regional President of the Australasian & Pacific Region; Nilda Arduin, Ombudsman Sint Maarten and new member of the Caribbean & Latin American Region; Alex Brenninkmeijer, National Ombudsman of the Netherlands and newly elected Regional President of the European Region; newly elected European Board members Elisabet Fura, Parliamentary Ombudsman of Sweden, Peter Tyndall, Public Services Ombudsman for Wales, UK as well as newly elected Board members for the North American Region, Alberta Ombudsman Peter Hourihan and Howard Sapers, Correctional Investigator of Canada.

At the same time the IOI would like to express its gratefulness to the outgoing members of the IOI Board of Directors: To Tom Frawley, IOI Vice-President and Northern Ireland Ombudsman, for his thoughtful contributions and professional assistance brought to the Board with wit and wisdom. To Arlene Brock, Regional Vice-President of the Caribbean and Latin American Region and Ombudsman for Bermuda, for her full commitment to the IOI and its work and the dedication and passion she brought to the Board. To Mr André Marin, Regional Vice-President of the North American Region and Ontario Ombudsman, for providing his vast experience and knowledge, especially in terms of Ombudsman training and last but not least to Board Members Arne Fliflet, Parliamentary Ombudsman of Norway, and Robin Matsunaga, Ombudsman Hawaii, for their continuous support and assistance.
