Spain | Catalan Ombudsman reports on human rights regression

The Office of the Catalan Ombudsman released a report on “Human Rights regression in Spain: elected officials’ freedom of expression and the separation of powers in the Kingdom of Spain”.

The report analyzes the impacts on human and fundamental rights that, in the view of this institution, are taking place in Spain, with a special effect in Catalonia.

This regression affects recognized rights and freedoms in the Catalan Spanish fundamental regulations, as well as the international legal framework. This has been denounced in annual reports 2014, 2015 and 2016 and several monographic reports submitted to Catalan Parliament.
