THAILAND | Chief Ombudsman ends his term

Mr Pramote Chotimongkol will be leaving his position as Chief Ombudsman of Thailand after having completed his six year term in August 2011. Previous to his appointment as Ombudsman of Thailand Mr Chotimongkol held the positions of Deputy Permanent Secretary for University Affairs at the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of University Affairs. Mr Chotimongkol has been an active member of the I.O.I. and contributed significantly to strengthening the relations between the Office of the Ombudsman of Thailand and the I.O.I.

Mrs Panit Nitithanprapas, the first female Ombudsman in office since October 2008, will follow Mr Chotimongkol as Chief Ombudsman. Mrs Nitithanprapas can draw from her experience in several high ranking positions she held in the public sector, such as Inspector General of the Prime Minister’s Office or Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.
