PAKISTAN | Constitution of the Federal Advisory Committee on Reforms and Alternate Dispute Resolution

As stipulated in Article 18 of the President’s Order No. 1 of 1983 and in keeping with the spirit of the Federal Ombudsmen Institutional Reforms Act, 2013, the Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan has established the Federal Advisory Committee on Reforms and Alternate Dispute Resolutions comprising fourteen eminent members from various walks of life. The Committee inter-alios includes  a former Chief Justice of a High Court, a former Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, two former Chairmen Senate of Pakistan/Federal Minister for Law, Justice & Human Rights, the Chairman Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, and Vice Chancellors/Rectors of renowned  universities of Pakistan.

By speeding up the process of reforms, inter alia, aimed at increasing outreach and improving modus-operandi, the constitution of the Committee will go a long way to boost Ombudsmanship in Pakistan and improve governance.
