CONTROL YUAN, TAIWAN | Control Yuan Members Inspect Kinmen County, Address Remote Island Issues on Healthcare, Inter-Island Transportation, and Youth Entrepreneurship

Control Yuan (CY) members Lai Chen-Chang and Lin Yu-Jung conducted a circuit supervision and inspection in Kinmen County from January 8 to 10, 2025. In addition to receiving people’s complaints at the County Government’s office, they were briefed by county officials on local administration. Key issues of concern included the government fiscal expenditure, the implementation of youth housing policies, inter-island transportation, and the application of remote medical treatment, etc.

As part of their circuit supervision, the CY members visited Dadan Island to assess the progress of tourism reopening and the environmental impact of visitor landings. They then inspected the Kinmen Ceramics Factory to evaluate its operational efficiency and cultivation of professional technicians, hoping that the factory would demonstrate its exceptional cultural value as one and the only official kiln in Taiwan.

To inspect the effectiveness of the regional revitalization project in Kinmen, subsidized by the National Development Council, CY members also visited a youth empowerment workstation. They reviewed the efforts to preserve traditional southern Fujian (Minnan) architecture and the project's overall impact. They commended the workstation for integrating local businesses to promote specialized tourism packages, incorporating Minnan architecture, village culture, and the signature “Qionglin Banquet” cuisine, which has infused new vitality into Kinmen’s tourism industry.
