CHINA/MACAO | English version of Annual Report 2011

Every calendar year the Commission Against Corruption (CCAC) of Macao submits a report of its activities of the previous year to the Chief Executive. The Annual Report of 2011 is now also available in English and can be found here.

According to this report, it is clear that the CCAC effectively fulfilled the functions assigned to it, enhanced the effectiveness in the prevention, investigation and punishment of crime and made progress while ensuring stability.

The foreword of said report further states that, in the area of anti-corruption, the CCAC continued to uphold its strategy of combating and prevention. In 2011 the Anti-Corruption Bureau investigated over one hundred cases. There was an increase in the number of bribery cases in both public and private sector, which indicates an elevated awareness on integrity, law-abidingness as well as a stronger pursuit for fairness.
