CANADA | First wave of COVID-19 in CHSLDs: The Québec Ombudsman publishes a Progress Report

As part of an investigation into how the first wave of COVID-19 was handled in Québec CHSLDs, Québec Ombudsperson Marie Rinfret published a Progress Report that gives the floor to people who experienced the crisis firsthand.

"By basing the report on witness statements from our investigation, as well as on the complaints and reports received since the start of the pandemic, we have already identified lessons to be learned from the first wave that hit CHSLDs. We went on to pin down the priorities for action so that the care and services delivered are a worthy response to the needs of residents," said Marie Rinfret.

The conclusions of this special investigation will be released in the fall of 2021.
