BackThe Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights spoke during a meeting on the organisation of the monitoring of the fulfilment of the Action plan and on the implementation of the National strategy in the field of human rights, which was organized by the Ombudsman's Office and the Ukrainian Helsinki Union for Human Rights (UHUHR).
"The issue of monitoring of implementation of National strategy in the field of human rights and fulfilment of the Action plan on its implementation is a first-priority and priority task of our office.”, – Ms. Valeriya Lutkovska is convinced.
During the meeting experts discussed how to carry out the monitoring and further how to make it most effective. Discussing the concept of algorithm of monitoring of implementation of National strategy in the field of human rights and the Action plan in the second quarter 2016, participants of the meeting agreed that a priority is the fulfilment of Strategy for human rights According to Ms.Valeriya Lutkovska, results of the monitoring shall contain not only critical remarks, but also statements of expert opinion which will assist the government to determine further actions.
"Neither the Ombudsman's Office, nor the Ukrainian Helsinki Union for Human Rights have sufficient resources for implementation of monitoring of all aspects of such complex document as the Strategy. Therefore we are interested in the participation of representatives of a wide range of the public and such platform which we created", the chief executive of UHUHR Mr. Arkadiy Bushchenko emphasized.
Besides, special attention was paid to coordination of actions between public organizations which carry out mentioned monitoring, and to establishing effective interaction between them and the central authorities in the fulfilment of the Action plan and Strategy implementation,
