It is with great regret that the I.O.I. has learned about the passing of former Portuguese Ombudsman, Mr. Henrique Nascimento Rodrigues on 11 April 2010 at the age of 69.
It is with great regret that the I.O.I. has learned about the passing of former Portuguese Ombudsman, Mr. Henrique Nascimento Rodrigues on 11 April 2010 at the age of 69. Mr. Nascimento Rodrigues, who served two terms as Portuguese Ombudsman, has been a valuable member of the international ombudsman community. During his impressive career he was elected twice Vice-President of the Iberoamerican Federation of Ombudsman (FIO) and therefore significantly contributed to an enhanced cooperation between ombudsman institutions in Europe and South America. The I.O.I. would like to express its deepest sympathy to his family, his friends and colleagues in these days of mourning.
