IOI | International seminar and training workshop to be held in Bangkok

The General Secretariat is pleased to announce that a new international seminar and training workshop will take place in Bangkok from 3 to 6 April 2013. The event will be hosted by the Office of the Ombudsman of Thailand in cooperation with the IOI and the Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA). It is meant to commemorate the 13th anniversary of the establishment of the Thai ombudsman institution.

The Bangkok training workshop will be conducted by renowned trainers from the Edinburgh-based Queen Margaret University (QMU) which has an excellent reputation as a centre for ombudsman and complaint handling practice. The workshop will be held in English and consists of a total of eight sessions on complaint assessment, effective investigation, acting on findings, effective communication and reporting.

The international seminar and training workshop will be offered to IOI member institutions in good standing and AOA members free of charge. Travel and accommodation costs must be borne by the participants. In order to ensure the efficient planning of the event, people interested in taking part in the training workshop are encouraged to sign up at their earliest convenience or to register by 28 February 2013 at the latest.
