IOI President, Chris Field PSM, at the office of the Minister for Relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the Autochthonous Slovenian National Community in Neighbouring Countries, and between the Republic of Slovenia and Slovenians Abroad
On the occasion of his official visit to Slovenia, IOI President Chris Field PSM had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Matej Arčon, Minister for Relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the Autochthonous Slovenian National Community in Neighbouring Countries, and between the Republic of Slovenia and Slovenians Abroad. Minister Arčon and President Field had a very enjoyable and productive discussion regarding the work of the IOI and its more than 200 members from over 100 countries.
“Minister Arčon and I discussed at length the more than 20,000 strong Slovenian diaspora living in Australia, the profound contribution and respect my country has for the Slovene people and their diasporas worldwide and our commitment to their rights. We also discussed, again with pride, the very senior public office held by Ms Tanya Plibersek, Minister for the Environment and Water, and the Minister's proud Slovenian heritage” said President Field.
