BackThe new round of IOI regional subventions has stirred broad interest within the international ombudsman community and the General Secretariat received eight applications for IOI regional subsidies prior to the deadline in mid-January 2012. In the current membership year, IOI regional subsidies amounting to a total of EUR 30,000 are available. Each IOI Region will be able to profit from subsidies of up to EUR 5,000.
Most of the projects for which financial support has been requested are training initiatives for ombudsman staff. Some projects concern public communication and research activities as well. In regional terms they cover projects proposals in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America involving several partner institutions in the region.
After consultation with the Regional Vice-President the IOI General Secretariat will present a short-list of successful applications to be approved by the IOI Board of Directors.
