PAKISTAN | Karachi Metropolitain Corporation pays G.P. Fund to retired government servant

Provincial Ombudsman Sindh initiated prompt action to redress the grievance of the retired government servant. Investigation revealed that his former public employer Karachi Metropolitain Corporationdid not maintain upto-date entries of the General Provident Fund account in favour of the complainant at the time of transfer with the result that the retired government officer was deprived of his due right.

Due to the intervention of the Ombudsman, departmental proceedings were expedited and G.P. Fund amounting to Rs.308,559,- alongwith markup was paid to the retired government servant by the agencies concerned. G.P. Fund & interest thereon was re-calculated and an additional amount of Rs.27.637,- was also paid to the complainant as a mark-up.

The complainant appreciated the Ombudsman Institution for taking prompt action and providing administrative speedy justice to him.
