Brazil | National Ombudsman (PFDC) releases Management Report 2022

The Office of the National Ombudsman (PFDC) has published its Management Report 2020 - 2022. The areas, in which the PFDC takes action, are diverse and complex. Among the body’s various agendas are the migratory crisis, the fight against homotransphobia and racism, the defence of women’s rights, human rights at the corporate level, freedom of expression, adequate food, the forced disappearance of people and the promotion of human rights.

The Office of the National Ombudsman (PFDC) consists of more than 200 people whose guidelines are the protection of human rights and the defence of the democratic rule of law. The Brazilian State has a rich, multi-ethnic and vibrant culture, which embraces different colours, beliefs and people. Therefore, the integration and recognition of all this diversity will serve to evolve towards a culture of human rights and a nation with quality services and dignity for all.

In order to analyse these agendas in the necessary depth, the PFDC has involved representatives of civil society, social movements and, mainly, academics. Technical foundations and scientific knowledge have been the basis of PFDC’s work for an edifying dialogue with the Brazilian society.
