I.O.I. NORTH AMERICAN REGION | New Board member

By resigning from his office in 2010, Alberta Ombudsman Gord Button did not only end his duties as I.O.I. Treasurer but also vacated the position of a member of the I.O.I. Board of Directors. The North American Region of the I.O.I. therefore held elections during its meeting in Florida (USA), held in October 2011 and welcomed Hawaii State Ombudsman, Mr Robin Matsunaga (USA), as a newly elected Director to the I.O.I. Board.

Mr Matsunaga has served as Hawaii State Ombudsman since 1998. Previous to his appointment as Ombudsman Mr Matsunaga worked for the Hawaii State Hose of Representatives for 12 years, including four years as the Chief Clerk for the House Committee on Finance and six years as the Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the House. Mr Matsunaga is known to be an active member of the United States Ombudsman Association (USOA) and has just recently been elected to serve as its President for the next two years.

The I.O.I. welcomes Mr Matsunaga to the Board of Directors and is looking forward to a productive and fruitful cooperation in the near future!
