On December 23th, 2015, Mr. Sung Yung-hoon took office as the chairman of the Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Commission of Korea (ACRC), succeeding Mr. Lee Sungbo who has been a valuable member of the IOI Board and whose term expired on December 10th.
In his inaugural speech, Mr. Sung said: "I feel a great responsibility to assume the leadership of the ACRC. During my term, I will spare no effort to protect the rights and interests of the people from illegal or unjust administrative measures, and enhance transparency and integrity in the public sector and society as a whole. In particular, I would like to ensure the right balance and coordination of conflicting values and interests to build public trust in the government"
Before joining the ACRC, he worked as a public prosecutor for about 30 years in various posts at the Ministry of Justice and the Prosecution Service of Korea, including Deputy Minister for Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Justice.
