ANGOLA | Ombudsman attends 10th anniversary of South African Military Ombudsman

The Angolan Ombudsman, Ms. Antónia Florbela Rocha Araújo, at the invitation of the South African Military Ombudsman, Lt Gen (Ret) Vusi Masondo, attended the annual symposium marking the 10th Year Anniversary since the establishment of the South African Military Ombudsman Office, under the theme: "The Role of the Ombudsman in the Oversight Within the Civil Military Architecture: Threats, Resilience, Responsiveness and Future Implications".

In this event, the Ombudsman of Angola held a meeting with the Military Ombudsman where she addressed the need to share experiences and identify institutional cooperation of common interest.

The Angolan Ombudsman took the opportunity of her stay in South Africa to contribute to the effective realization of the Rule of Law and Respect for the Principles of Justice and Equality. She delivered two lectures addressed to the Angolan Community living in South Africa on the subjects (a) "The Role of the Ombudsman and its Scope of Action in Defense of Citizens' Rights", and (b) “The Role and Mandate of the Ombudsman and the Duty of Cooperation of the Bodies of the State's Central Administration".
