2014 marks 30 years of the Office of the Ombudsman in Ireland. As part of its 30th Anniversary, the Ombudsman's Office is co-hosting a conference with the Institute of Public Administration (IPA). “Held to Account: Responsibility and Accountability in the Public Service” takes place in the IPA on 7 November 2014.
Speakers include the Ombudsman, Peter Tyndall, Baroness Nuala O’Loan, Kevin Rafter, Jane Tinkler and Dame Beverley A. Wakem. A broad range of topics will be covered on the day including the changing role of the Ombudsman, police accountability and the strengthening of civil service accountability and performance.
