angola | Ombudsman defends investment on training of staff belonging to Portuguese Language Countries Community

The Ombudsman, Antónia Florbela Rocha Araújo, defended on 28 October, training and technical capacity building as a priority so that institutions such as the Ombudsman's Office and other similar institutions may provide a better quality service to citizens, on international training course on Human Rights held in Luanda, under the theme "Comparative Evaluation of the Systems for Processing Cases of the Ombudsman and other CPLP Human Rights Institutions".

The Ombudsman stated that "we should always invest in training, valuing and qualifying the technicians that support the mission of the Ombudsmen and the National Human Rights Institutions. Investing in technical training should be a priority for the institutions, only then will we be able to provide a better quality service", she stressed.

The Ombudsman invited the agents of the public sector to make a deep reflection on the bad conducts in the treatment of the citizen, the administrative injustice perpetrated by public bodies and officials, situations that lead to materially unjust results. The training was attended by representatives from six CPLP Network countries, namely Angola, Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé e Príncipe, and from various national institutions.
