ANGOLA | Ombudsman Florbela Rocha Araújo, as President of AOMA, participates in the 15th Assembly and Seminar of the ILO

The Angolan Ombudsman, Florbela Rocha Araújo, in her capacity as President of the African Ombudsman and Mediators Association (AOMA), participated in the 15th Assembly and Seminar of the Institute of Latin-American Ombudsman (ILO), and during her visit to the event, she signed a Cooperation Agreement between AOMA and the ILO.

This agreement aims to promote the exchange of experiences between the two regions, fostering training and strategic partnerships between Africa and Latin America.

During her speech, Florbela Araújo highlighted the importance of transforming the commitment into concrete actions and verifying the implementation of the Agreement.

Another highlight was the tribute to Chico Mendes, an environmental leader who, after being assassinated at the age of 44, left a legacy of fighting for the preservation of the Amazon and the appreciation of forest communities.

Florbela Araújo concluded her participation by reinforcing the importance of international cooperation to face global challenges, marking the event as a significant step towards strengthening the institutions involved.
