PAKISTAN | Successful completion of third phase of awareness campaign about role, responsibility and importance of Provincial Ombudsman

After successful completion of the 2nd phase of the project, The Hon'ble Provincial Ombudsman, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa decided to expand the awareness program throughout the province. Accordingly, different districts were visited for the purpose. So far, total 18 districts have been visited and awareness campaigns have been organized. For this purpose, we are highly indebted to IOI General Secretariat for facilitating us by allowing a subsidy grant worth 4,130/-€, out of which 2,065/- € was allocated as advance for initiating this phase of the project. A detailed plan of different activities in the remaining districts of the province was prepared for the proper utilization of this grant / amount. In order to conduct awareness campaign successfully and to utilize the subsidy grant as per agreement, the 3rd phase of awareness campaign was arranged in the following districts:

1. Awareness Campaign at District Tank (militancy hit area) on 06/03/2024.
2. Awareness Campaign at Southern region (Jandola) (NMD and militancy hit area) on 07/03/2024
3. Awareness Campaign at District Lakki Marwat (militancy hit area) on 08/03/2024
4. Awareness Campaign at District Karak on 14/05/2024.
5. Awareness Campaign at District Bannu on 15/05/2024.
6. Awareness Campaign at District Miran Shah (Newly Merged District and militancy hit area) on 16/05/2024.
7. Awareness Campaign at District Mansehra on 27/06/2024.
8. Awareness Campaign at Nathia Gali on 19/09/2024.
9. Awareness Campaign at District Charsadda on 16/10/2024.
10. Awareness campaign sessions at local union councils and institutions.

The public highly appreciated the step taken by the Ombudsman in collaboration with the IOI. Especially in the militancy hit areas. The Ombudsman also appreciated the hard work of his team by reaching such inaccessible areas and conducted awareness sessions. With limited financial resources, this Institution achieved maximum targets in this phase by visiting 10 districts including 02 NMDs (Newly Merged Districts) of the province. The results achieved from the third phase of the IOI regional subsidy project are indicated as below:
