CHINA | Ombudsman Hong Kong celebrates 15th anniversary

The Office of the Hong Kong Ombudsman celebrated the 15th anniversary of becoming an independent statutory body at its press conference on 19 December 2016.

Fifteen years ago, i.e. 19 December 2001, the Ombudsman's Ordinance was revised to grant The Ombudsman full power in administration and financial arrangement.

At the same press conference, Hong Kong Ombudsman Connie Lau also  announced  the results of one direct investigation report on “Education Bureau’s Regulation of Kindergarten Application Fees”” and two full investigation reports on “Complaints against Buildings Department for Defective Follow-up Actions on Removal Orders”.  Details can be found on the Hong Kong Ombudsman’s website.
