NETHERLANDS | Ombudsman of the City of Amsterdam retires

After eight years of serving as the Ombudsman of the City of Amsterdam, Ulco van de Pol will retire as of June 2013.

He has had the pleasure of sharing experiences with colleagues from all over the world. The last official act of Ombudsman van de Pol was the presentation of a comprehensive report on neighbour nuisance to Mayor Van der Laan, who thanked the Ombudsman of the City of Amsterdam for the work he has done in the recent years. His performance was firm but fair, and his reports made an important contribution to the improvement of the complaints infrastructure and services in Amsterdam.

The recruitment procedure for his successor is in its final stages and the new ombudsman will be announced later on.
