Welcome to the first edition of The Ombudsman's Casebook in 2017. A particularly warm welcome to those who subscribed since our last edition.

The Casebook contains summaries of complaints the Ombudsman dealt with in late 2016.  This edition features cases from most sectors including:

• Education: Some complaints about applications for the Disability Access Route to Education scheme (DARE) and Higher Education grants
