Canada | Ontario Ombudsman announces dates for October 2017 training

From 16- 18 October 2017 the "Sharpening your teeth: Advanced Investigative Training for Administrative Watchdogs" will take place in Toronto and is now open for regitstration. This training couse is tailored for ombudsmen and administrative investigators.

 

  • When: October 16-18, 2017
  • Where: Twenty Toronto Street, the Ontario Bar Association Conference Centre, Toronto, Ontario
  • Cost for IOI members: $599 until July 31 ($999 after July 31)
  • What: Three-day training course that will cover investigation planning, interviewing, assessing evidence, report writing, and using digital and social media tools to conduct and publicize an investigation

The course is tailored for oversight agencies and those who work in similar fields, and is taught by the Ontario Ombudsman senior team of experts in investigations, evidence and communications. Take a look at the course agenda from last year to get an idea of what will be covered. The Office of the Ontario Ombudsman has trained hundreds of professionals from agencies across Canada and the U.S., Central and South America, Asia, Africa, Europe and Australia. The course is regularly updated with real-life examples and features hands-on exercises and useful templates that can be adapted by offices large and small.
