CAYMAN ISLANDS | Own Motion Investigation on health and safety at work

The Office of the Complaints Commissioner of the Cayman Islands recently published an Own Motion Investigation titled "Danger: Construction at Work".

The report scrutinizes the state of health and safety in the construction industry in the Cayman Islands – a regulatory infrastructure which, if not improved, could collapse at any moment. Despite the reorganization of the Department of Employment Relations (DER) into two departments, one of which, the Department of Labour and Pensions (DLP), deals with health and safety matters, the situation remains the same today.
