ALBANIA | People’s Advocate initiates an inspection of the National Center for Treatment of the Victims of Violence

This inspection was carried out due to a complaint submitted by some women being sheltered at this Center as well as a  chronicle broadcasted  on “Fiks Fare” TV program, regarding the treatment and the living conditions provided to them by this Center.

After the hearing and the examination of the documentation administered by People’s Advocate assistant commissioners, a recommendation was sent to the Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, in order to bring the situation in this Center in conformity with the Albanian legislation and the standards set up for the residential social services institutions, related to the domestic violence victims.
