ioi | President attends meeting with Mr Bruce Edwards, Australian Ambassador to Ukraine

Chris Field, President of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) and Western Australian Ombudsman, attended a meeting with Mr Bruce Edwards, Australian Ambassador to Ukraine, as part of the Ambassador’s official visit to Western Australia.

“It was a great pleasure to meet Bruce Edwards, Australian Ambassador to Ukraine (and Moldova). Ambassador Edwards was very generous with his time and we had an exceptionally helpful exchange. The meeting with Ambassador Edwards was particularly well-timed as I have just returned from my official visit to Hungary to attend the border crossing points of Hungary, Ukraine and Romania and will be undertaking an official visit to Ukraine in early December. The International Ombudsman Institute will always stand with our members, including the Ukraine Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, and never waver in our support for adherence to the international rules-based order and condemn the egregiousness, and tragedy, of the breach of this order” said President Field.

“More generally, I continue to be appreciative, and deeply so, of the significant and gracious support offered to me by all Australian Ambassadors and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in my role as President of the International Ombudsman Institute” said President Field.
