On 30 August 2023, Provincial Ombudsman Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Syed Jamalud Din Shah presented the Annual Report 2022 before the Hon'ble Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Ghulam Ali at Governor House Peshawar.
During the presentation of the report, the Ombudsman highlighted the importance of ensuring good governance and efficient service delivery by the government agencies. The removal or substantial reduction of the root causes of complaints will help to prevent serious threats to good governance. During the calendar year, the office has seen a significant increase in the number of complaints received. The increase is due to effective awareness campaigns initiated with the ample support of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) in the province, increase in confidence of public over the Ombudsman institution, education of the people about role and significance of the institution proved successful to attract maximum complainant’s to file cases in order to get prompt relief.
