PAKISTAN | Provincial Ombudsman Sindh issues directives for transfer of pension

Being aggrieved with the Accountant General Sindh Office for not transferring her pension, a complainant and widow of a deceased Police Constable of the Police Department, Government of Sindh, approached the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik for the transfer of pension of her deceased husband from Taluka Mahrab Pur, District Khairpur Sindh to Toba Tek Singh, Punjab. The department was delaying the transfer of family pension.

To redress grievance of the complainant, the Ombudsman Sindh Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik issued directives to the authorities concerned to initiate enquiries against the officers/officials responsible for delaying the matter of the widow. Due to the intervention of the Ombudsman, process and procedure of scrutiny by the concerned departments of the A.G. Sindh and Punjab were expedited and the complainant’s pension was transferred from Taluka Mahra Pur, District Khairpur Sindh to Toba Tek Singh, Punjab and arrears amounting to Rs.2,70,702 were paid to the widow.
