IOI EUROPE/SPAIN | Seminar on human right to gender identity cancelled

Unfortunately, the seminar “The Right to Gender Identity and Affective-Sexual Diversity. Challenges for Equality” had to be cancelled due to low registration numbers.

The seminar was jointly organized by the Ombudsman of the Basque Country (“Ararteko”) and the European Region of the IOI. It was meant to take place in Bilbao on 20 and 21 May 2013 and would have been open to all Ombudspersons in Europe.

“The number of registered attendees has not reached our expectations. We believe this number does not justify the great investment of the project. It was a very difficult decision to make”, explained Ombudsman Iñigo Lamarca in a letter to the IOI General Secretariat.
