BackThe office of the Public Defender (Ombudsman) of Georgia shares an update about its main activities in the month of September.
The Ombudsman took part in a meeting of the heads of National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) from the OSCE region, which was held in Warsaw at the beginning of September and where the issue of resilience and strengthening NHRIs was discussed.
In September, Ombudsman Lomjaria also held several bilateral meetings – among other – with the Chief Ombudsman of Turkey, or the newly appointed Ambassador of the European Union to Georgia.
On 27 September, the office hosted an international conference on the role of Ombudspersons in upholding the rights of older persons in close cooperation with the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsman (AOM).
