A mid-term Board Meeting of the IOI took place on 15 and 16 April 2013 in Vienna. Peter Kostelka, Secretary General of the IOI since 2009, welcomed 17 Ombudsman and their staff from around the world to this event.
One mile stone at the Board Meeting was the signing of the „Memorandum of Understanding“ (MoU) between the African Ombudsman and Mediators Association (AOMA) and the IOI, which stresses the willingness of both organisations to strongly cooperate. The MoU envisages participation in conferences and meetings, study visits and training workshops and an exchange of information. This initiative dates back to the Zambia Board Meeting in November 2011.
