BackFollowing the successful first I.O.I. edition of the “Sharpening Your Teeth”-Training that was attended by 38 participants from 17 different states, the I.O.I. is organising a second SYT training which will be held from 5 to 8 June 2011 at the I.O.I. General Secretariat in Vienna, Austria.
This educational program for staff members of Ombudsman institutions is based on the format “Sharpening Your Teeth” that was successfully invented by the Ontario Ombudsman in 2005. The specific I.O.I. edition will be held in English and offers a three-day training on systemic investigations. Please see the attached draft programme for further information.
The I.O.I. offers this high-profile training to I.O.I. member institutions in good standing free of charge. Ombudsman institutions that are not I.O.I. members will be charged fees and may attend the programme dependent on availability Please note that the registration deadline is 10 April 2011.
The I.O.I. will fund five scholarships for institutions with limited resources; in addition the City of Vienna will provide two scholarships. Scholarships that will be selected by the Executive Committee include refund for economy air fares as well as accommodation costs. Please note that the deadline for scholarship applications is 15 March 2011.
