ARMENIA | The Human Rights Defender watched the play "Alice in Wonderland" with the students of the Child and Family Support Center of Shirak Province

On June 8, the Human Rights Defender Ms. Anahit Manasyan paid a working visit to Shirak province.

A tour was conducted on the premises of the Child and Family Support Center of Shirak province SNCO of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, where children in difficult life situations receive care and support. The Defender got acquainted with the children's living conditions, programs aimed at children's development, and inquired about their daily life.

The children were introduced to the procedure of applying to the Defender in person.

Thereinafter, the Defender watched the play Alice in Wonderland with the students of the Center at the Vardan Achemyan State Drama Theater of Gyumri.

After the performance, the children shared their impressions with the Defender.

The visit to Gyumri was carried out within the framework of the International Children's Day; the Deputy of the Prosecutor General Yeghiazar Avagyan, the regional Prosecutor Armen Chichoyan, and Deputy Governor Anna Martikyan participated in the visit.

The visits of the Human Rights Defender to care and protection institutions are continuous.

From the viewpoint of ensuring the best interest of the child, the Defender ascribes great importance to the selection of alternative care that provides a family environment for the child, and guarantees the rights of the child in the entire process of providing care, when providing care for the child in his/her biological family is impossible due to various factors.
