IOI | Webinar on “Ombudsman Innovations for advancing Open Government” on 17 March 2015

On Tuesday, 17 March 2015 at 10am (Eastern Standard Time), a webinar on “Ombudsman Innovations for advancing Open Government” will take place. The joint project is sponsored by the Open Government Partnership (OGP), the World Bank Governance Global Practice (GGP) and the IOI and will aim to discuss the opportunities for Ombudsman offices to engage in their respective countries’ OGP processes.

Ombudsman institutions, in their function as mediators between citizens and governments, play an important role in the promotion of open government. Therefore, the webinar will address questions concerning the role of Ombudsman offices in the OGP process as well as possible entry points.

Fiona Crean, Ombudsman of the City of Toronto and Scottish Public Services Ombudsman Jim Martin will be the two presenters of this webinar, which is targeted at representatives of Ombudsman offices, World Bank staff as well as OGP stakeholders such as civil society organisations.

The IOI kindly invites all of its member institutions to join this webinar! More details on how to register will be made available soon.
